Brownies.. College Style!
So my roommate Emily needed to bake a batch of brownies for her friend's birthday. So we decided to make a night of it and bake brownies and watch movies. So Emily, Sasha, and Laura went to Rite-Aid to get the mix, a pan, and other ingredients. Apparently the store was out of vegetable oil so after some Internet research we decided to use applesauce. So we made the brownies in the pan with a plastic spoon to mix it, no mixing bowl, and no wooden spoon. After adding the applesauce we realized it was homemade and chunky so we now had apple chunks in the brownies, so on the walk over to the oven (in a different building) Emily took it upon herself to pick out all the apple chunks with her fingers. That was after Laura dipped her scarf in the pan, leaving a few fuzzies in the mix. The kitchen was off a room where there were some bad trombonist playing something loudly. The kitchen was tiny, and we couldn’t figure out where the oven was at first, for some reason the over was under the sink... which Emily didn’t think was possible. Oh and there were Bibles, in the cupboards. So after getting the brownies in we wandered over to "Games Night" in another building. It was a bunch of board games and video games set up for gaming nerds, and those of us with inner game nerds. But all four of us just stood around the food table eating candy and broccoli and watching people play video games on giant screens, Guitar Hero was amazing. After 27 minutes we went back to check on the brownies and had to wait another few minutes before they were done. We removed the pan with a scarf as a potholder.
Back at our dorm the brownies actually tasted not too bad. The saltines, soup, raw Raman, frosting, granola, chocolate, starbursts, broccoli, and animal cookies were also tasty. We ended up watching random things online, listening to music, taking pictures, and then in the end watching the first two episodes of Weeds.
So far I'm still in my jammies :) I have gotten a lot of homework done however. Tonight should be fun as well.
Here are the pics that I'm too lazy to put in with the text.
